Clarendon County Archives & History Center
Established in 1996 to collect, preserve and display the unique documents and artifacts that chronicle area history. Housed within the old Manning Library, built c. 1908 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the center and its contents provide insight into the life, culture and families of the area. Presentations that detail information on the county's beginnings in 1855 and life through the war years are provided for scheduled group tours. Pocotaligo Conservatory Area Park

Santee National Wildlife Refuge
This 15,000-acre refuge lies within the Atlantic Coastal Plain and includes mixed hardwoods, pine plantations, marsh, croplands, old fields, ponds, impoundments, and open water. Four management units of the refuge stretch over 18 miles along the northern shore of Lake Marion supporting an array of habitats and wildlife including alligators, numerous reptile & amphibians, 300 birds (bald eagle, osprey, waterfowl, numerous shore and wading birds, painted buntings).
