Parris Island Museum
Since its dedication on January 8, 1975, Parris Island Museum has collected, preserved, exhibited, and held artifacts, art, memorabilia, photographs, and personal papers of lasting historical and traditional value. The Arsenal
The Arsenal was occupied by the U.S. Army. An African-American militia unity was later garrisoned there and the National Guard mustered there until 1966. The Arsenal was expanded a third time in the 1930s by the Works Progress Administration. It was during that time that a wing was specifically designated as a local museum to house relics. Verdier House
Located downtown on Bay Street in Historic Beaufort, South Carolina, the John Mark Verdier House is one of the finest architectural examples of the Federal Period. Built circa 1800, its antique room settings further illustrate life in Beaufort during the 19th century.
